What is the Scariest Film you have ever seen?

I tried to think back to when I was younger, and what I realized is that that was the time when I saw what felt like the scariest movies in the world.  Now obviously, they seemed scarier then because I was young, but when I look back at some of those movies, they still freak me out.  The movie that has always been frieghtning to me is Child’s Play, which is also known as “Chucky”(The killer doll).  That movie made me scared of all types of dolls.  I used to have reoccuring dreams about Chucky.

I always wonder what movies are considered the scariest to other people.  Movies that I have always been scared or wierded out by are Halloween, Saw, Alien, The Ring, Children of the Corn, Signs, Jaws, and Psycho.  Obviously there are more, but these are films that I have seen often.  There are different types of scary films.  There are ghost films, serial killer films, killer animal films, and alien films.  Which type scare you the most?  I think I have always been really terrified of ghost/haunted films, and alien films.  Don’t get me wrong, movies such as Halloween terrorfy me, but there is just something about supernatural things/events that completely spook me out.

At http://horrormovies.tribe.net/thread/5a8e8927-ce4f-4451-ae52-0020375d5c32, the 100 Scariest Movies of All Time are listed.  Now, everyone is entitled to their opinions, but this list was created by the Chicago Film Critics Association.  This list contains all types of scary movies, including many of the films that have always frieghtened me the most.  Check it out and see if your “scariest films” are on the list.

  1. I always thought that “It” the movie about the clown, and children of the corn were always pretty terrifying.
For some reason movies made in the last 5-7 years just aren’t ask scary to me. Maybe it was the style of film then.

  2. OMG, I totally agree with you. I love horror movies and have no problem watching any of them except for Child’s Play. I started watching them when I was younger and I never made it through a single one. To this day I haven’t tried watching them again, and don’t think I ever will.

  3. Yeah im a big fan of horror movies too, and when I look back at when i was young i think the movie that scared me the most was Leprochaun. I swear that movie used to give me nightmares all the time. Now that im older, movies dont really scare me as much. The only movies that I get scared by are those movies that make things jump out at you. There is nothing worse than sitting in the movies and something pops on the screen and makes everybody jump. I agree with you though, all those movies you said are scary.

  4. I don’t really have a movie that sticks out in my mind as one that scares me. I think its because I love Scary movies. I always have, even when I was younger. I Just Love Them! I try to see every scary movie that comes out.

  5. The scariest movie I have ever seen is “The Exorcist”. To this day, ever single night I think of that movie before I got to bed. I seriously wish I never watched it. All movies like that about the devil and god they all really really scare me. I havent seen to many scary movies because even movies that aren’t scary scare me.

  6. As I kid, I wasn’t allowed to watch some of these more typical horror movies that you name, but Disney actually put out a scary movie in 1980 called Watcher in the Woods, and it SCARED me. It was so creepy, yet I loved it and made my parents rent it again and again.
