The Significance of Movies and Film

People do not watch movies just for something to do.  Movies provide laughter, understanding, comfort, adventure, motivation, and romance.  The most important aspect of a movie is that the audience can relate to it.  Whether the story is similar to your life experiences or if it’s seeing alot of your qualities in a specific character, how an individual connects to a movie is very significant.   Nobody wants to see a movie that doesn’t do anything for them.  If it creates no interest for them then it is pointless.

Once a person can relate to a film, it gives the film so much more power.   It has the power to create many different emotions and to connect a person to their emotions.  For example, many people do not realize how sensitive they are until they see a movie that completely breaks them down into tears.

A lot of people haven’t found what it is that they are interested in until they see a film that reaches out to them.  A person may really only be into comedy until they see a suspensful film that keeps them focused and at the edge of their seat the whole time.  Focus is very important for any type of film. If the movie does not capture and maintain the audience’s attention, than they will lose interest.

It never matters what movie someone is watching.  It only matters what they get out of it.  The ways that the movie is significant to them is the main thing.

I missed last week’s blog(2/2/08) so I am making up for it now: Final Destination 4??

I have just heard recently that there is talk of making Final Destination 4.  For those of you who are not fans of “F.D.” and have not seen the first 3, these movies are gorey films about a group of people who have escaped an immediate tragic disaster.  After escaping the disaster in the beginning of the story, death is constantly surrounding them and attempting to bring them to their fate.  They try to out run fate, but quickly realize they can’t as one by one they all begin to die in ironic and painful ways.

These movies are known for their suspensful and gruesome scenes.  The first movie involved a plane crash, the second was a huge highway pile up, and the third was a disastrous rollercoaster ride.

I am a HUGE fan of the F.D. films, but I am not crazy about the idea of there being a fourth film.  The first three are going to be very hard to top.  I am not sure what the creators will make as the fourth disaster.  I keep trying to come up with different senerios to try and see what could make this a good movie, but I have not come up with any strong possibilities.

Producers put a lot of time, money, and energy into films, so they must believe that this movie will sell if they are putting so much effort into it.  it should be really interesting to see how the movie turns out.  I don’t have much faith in it, but we will all just have to wait and see.
